OBJECT BEFORE 15th October 2019

Sunset Harvest at Four Marks, Hampshire. – our thanks to Darren Parratt, Four Marks for allowing BLAG to use his photograph

WE DON’T NEED 600+ MORE HOUSES IN FOUR MARKS

PLEASE OBJECT TO THE PROPOSAL TO BUILD ON THE LAND SOUTH OF WINCHESTER ROAD, FOUR MARKS.

Four Marks has seen serious over-development – it has grown by 40% over the last 17 years. Another 600+ houses will make that 70%!

EHDC are running a consultation to select TWO large development sites for the next Local Plan (see link ) . TEN sites have been proposed and FOUR are in Four Marks / Medstead / Ropley. A large development site will mean 10 years of construction traffic, dust and noise.

The Barn Lane Action Group was setup to protect the land to the west of the village and we have provided some notes to help with your OBJECTION LETTER to development on the Land South of Winchester Road, Four Marks – we give suggested valid planning objections. Many of these objections also apply to the other sites.

Please write to East Hampshire District Council to OBJECT to the Land South of Winchester Road, Four Marks site before midnight on 15th October. If you choose to use EHDC’s portal to provide detailed objections we provide help to do this below:

EHDC’s website has details of the proposals. The four sites in Four Marks are listed below:

  • Four Marks South
  • Land South of Winchester Road, Four Marks
  • South Medstead
  • West of Lymington Bottom Road, South Medstead

EHDC encourage you to submit feedback in SUPPORT of sites as well (outside of Four Marks of course!). If you want to do this then please submit a SEPARATE email, letter etc. to avoid confusion!

If you want additional copies of our flyer then please contact us via the contact page, or you can download a PDF copy below – thank you

Large development sites consultation

So we thought the local plan consultation had closed – but NO!

EHDC selected two large development sites (Whitehill and Bordon; Northbook Park) for the local plan consultation. A group of landowners and developers decided that it was unfair so they have proposed EIGHT new alternative sites for inclusion in the plan. EHDC have setup another round of consultation on these new sites.

EHDC’s website has more details on the Draft Local Plan page. You can download a scan of the flyer that has been distributed in Four Marks and Medstead below.

There is a Four Marks and Medstead Community meeting to discuss this at 4pm on Sunday 8th September at Four Marks Village Hall. PLEASE COME AND HEAR HOW YOU CAN OBJECT.

The developers will be presenting their plans at Alton Assembly Rooms – Saturday 14 September, 10am-2pm. This is your chance to see the detail and ask questions.

Please submit comments as the consultation is a numbers game! Comments need to be submitted by 15th October 2019 to EHDC.
